About Trunk Motion Pictures
Our Journey
A Creator Duo made up of Ryan Rodrigues and Palka Sodhi.
Trunk Motion Pictures began long before it had a name.
We met on a college stage, performing plays, painting sets, telling stories with light and silence.
Those early days shaped how we see the world: as something to be directed, framed, and felt.
Bombay was our next chapter. We studied filmmaking at St. Xavier’s, worked on TV, Ads and Film sets, and learned the discipline behind the craft, how to balance instinct with precision.
Somewhere between rehearsals, edits, and all-night shoots,
we realised we worked best when we worked together.
What started as a few side projects turned into a practice, a name, and finally, a studio of our own.
Trunk Motion Pictures is the sum of that shared vision, rooted in theatre, shaped by cinema, and always driven by a simple belief: a good story, told with care, will always outlast the noise.

Palka Sodhi
Co-founder | Director of Photography
Palka Sodhi is the visual anchor of Trunk Motion Pictures, a Director of Photography and photographer whose frames carry both precision and quiet emotion. She comes from a lineage of nationally acclaimed photographers, but her own vision has always been her strongest inheritance.
Behind the camera, Palka’s strength lies in capturing what feels real: light that breathes, fabric that moves, moments that don’t need staging to speak. Her instinct for composition and detail gives each project a calm, cinematic weight
whether it’s a fashion film, an editorial campaign, or a story in stills.
Equally, Palka is the steady centre of any set. Her approach to production is practical
and clear-headed , optimistic when challenges arise, thoughtful when decisions are needed. She sees the bigger picture without losing sight of the smallest details, and finds solutions before there’s ever a problem.
With Palka onboard, shoots run smoother, teams work better, and visuals hold the honesty they deserve, crafted with care, guided by instinct, and always delivered with quiet confidence.

Ryan Rodrigues shapes how stories breathe. He sees narrative before it’s shot, sketches ideas that become frames, and stays with them until every beat lands exactly where it should.
On set, he sets the tone, guiding people and moments into place without forcing what doesn’t belong. In the edit, he works beyond the cut, building rhythm, flow, and emotional weight so each piece feels deliberate, not accidental.
Ryan’s strength lies in his need to question what others settle for. He pulls scenes apart, sharpens the quiet spaces, and balances precision with instinct, until the final piece holds more than just images. It carries mood, memory, and something honest enough to last.
Obsessive about details but grounded in the bigger picture, he believes good direction is design and a final cut isn’t where a story ends, but where it finally lives as it was meant to.
